Magical Landscapes - Paintings of Studley Royal, Hackfall and Fountains Abbey by Ian Scott Massie\n\nFountains Hall, Fountains Abbey, Ripon. HG4 3DY

1st October - 16th October 2011

An exhibition of paintings by Ian Scott Massie of the two great 18th Century landscapes created by John and William Aislaby.

The estate of Studley Royal, a World Heritage Site, includes the ruins of Fountains Abbey, a deer park, water gardens and follies. Hackfall, managed by the Woodland Trust, is a deep wooded gorge with beautiful follies, waterfalls and carefully designed "prospects".

Both are captured in paint by Yorkshire artist Ian Scott Massie and exhibited at Fountains Hall where two years ago his exhibition Spirit of Place (about Fountains Abbey) was a major success.
